Connell Smith was born in Campbell River, BC. He grew up in Keswick, Ontario, and has been based for the past twenty-two years in Quispamsis, New Brunswick where he works as a journalist and filmmaker. Connell trained as a TV Journalist at Humber College in Toronto and has a BA (Philosophy) from the University of New Brunswick.
His dramatic short films include Animating Mr. Saint John (Tidal Wave Film Festival 2002) and Searching for Daniel Baldwin (Saint John One Film Festival Audience Choice award 2003). Judges for the Atlantic Journalism Awards recently selected him for the 2006 gold prize for enterprise reporting (radio). How I Got Busted is his first feature. Connell has never been charged with a criminal offence.
Peter Atkinson is an independent filmmaker, and ordained United Church minister in southern New Brunswick. His films include the historical dramatic short Third Bridge, and the recent documentary Zone 20: The Moosehunt. Peter's strength is bringing people together.
He also produces live music events such as The Double C Jamboree, Ridge Runners Review, Settler's Fair, and a host of special fund raisers with local New Brunswick artists. This film is another collaboration with Connell Smith.
